Well-known Pakistani singer Fariha Pervez has opened up about not having children of her own and shared her thoughts on how parents should raise their kids. Fariha rose to fame with her debut song “Dil Hua Bo Kata” and went on to sing many popular Punjabi songs, drama title tracks, and ghazals. In 2016, she stepped away from the music industry after separating from fellow singer Nauman Javed.
Speaking on Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast “Excuse Me,” Fariha shared her personal feelings about motherhood. She said that if she had become a mother, she believes she would have been very protective and caring, since she herself experienced a full childhood with school and playtime, and understands how important that stage of life is. She said a mother plays a major role in shaping a child’s life.
Fariha also spoke about a habit she finds concerning among today’s parents: giving young children mobile phones and tablets too often. She said this is affecting children’s health, including their eyesight, posture, and overall well-being, comparing it to letting a valuable blessing go to waste. She urged parents to appreciate having children, calling it both a gift and a test from God, and stressed that raising a child properly is a serious responsibility.
She acknowledged that some parents might not appreciate her comments, but said it was important to speak up about the issue since it directly affects children’s health and upbringing.
