Actor Ahsan Khan has spoken up in support of women’s empowerment, urging husbands to help their wives grow rather than hold them back. In a recent interview, he said men should invest in their wives’ education, support their financial independence, and never feel threatened if their wives become more successful or earn more than them.
Khan said men who are doing well in life should “hold your wife’s hand and take her with you,” instead of limiting women to household chores and childcare.
Speaking about his own marriage, Khan shared that he encouraged his wife, Fatima, a LUMS graduate, to pursue her interest in baking by enrolling her in classes and buying the equipment she needed. Later, when she became interested in interior design, he supported her enrollment in a six-month course and even offered to stay home with their kids.
He also spoke about teaching her practical life skills, like driving and handling her own finances, since she grew up with drivers and household help. “There is nothing wrong if the wife earns more and the husband earns less,” he said.
Khan also criticised how men and women often speak negatively about each other in public, saying such comments shape how others view marriages.
The actor also discussed his role as Tabish in the drama Aap Ki Izzat, describing him as a flawed but redeemable character, different from his infamous role in Udaari. He praised co-star Urwa Hocane for taking on a realistic, non-glamorous character in the show.
