Young content creator Muhammad Shiraz, known online as Shirazi Vlogs, has shared an emotional video after floods caused heavy destruction in his village. In the message, he said the disaster had swept away the hopes and dreams of many families and asked his followers to keep the affected people in their prayers.
Shiraz, often called Pakistan’s youngest vlogger, comes from Ghursay, a small village in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Ghanche district, home to around 2,000 people near the Shyok River. His channel first gained fame for gentle videos about everyday village life, from fetching water to celebrating local festivals. Over time, though, his content has also turned toward the real struggles his community faces, especially seasonal flooding that regularly damages homes, crops, and orchards in the area.
This is not the first time floods have hit close to home for Shiraz and his family. In the past, he and his father, Muhammad Taqi, have used their platform to push local authorities for a permanent flood-protection dam and have personally helped rebuild homes for villagers left without shelter. Despite some temporary measures being put in place, a lasting solution has not yet arrived, leaving the village vulnerable each flood season.
His latest video has struck a chord with viewers across social media, many of whom praised him for using his large following to draw attention to a crisis that often goes unnoticed outside the region. The clip has renewed calls for support and compassion for families in Gilgit-Baltistan working to rebuild their lives after losing so much.
