Hamza Bhatti and Mooroo Attend Khamenei’s Funeral in Tehran

Pakistani vloggers Hamza Bhatti and Taimoor Salahuddin, popularly known as Mooroo, traveled to Tehran to attend the funeral of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The two content creators said they had been invited by the Iranian government to attend as state guests.

Bhatti shared pictures from Islamabad airport before departing, saying he felt honored to represent Pakistan at such an important occasion. He said he did not take the responsibility lightly.

Salahuddin later posted a video from the Grand Mosalla in Tehran, where the funeral was taking place, sharing his thoughts on the experience. He explained that he had come not to take a side, but simply to observe the moment. He described witnessing the genuine grief of a nation mourning the loss of its leader and compared it to the centuries-old mourning traditions observed for Imam Hasan and Imam Husain. He noted that the mourning had continued for two days, with a steady stream of people arriving to pay their respects. He said the atmosphere left a deep and lasting impression on him.

Bhatti also shared a video showing scenes from the city, including mourners dressed in black, closed shops, and visuals from the funeral itself. He wrote about witnessing a level of grief that brought the entire city to a standstill. He added that although his content usually focuses on lighter topics like food and travel, this time he wanted to capture something more significant.

The vloggers’ presence in Tehran drew attention from Pakistani social media users, many of whom were already closely following developments in Iran following Khamenei’s killing.
