Pakistani singer Asim Azhar has shared a health update with his fans after being diagnosed with a tonsil infection. He told everyone he is recovering and used humor while sharing the news.
On his Instagram story, Azhar wrote in Urdu that he has gotten a tonsil infection and that doctors have told him he has sung a lot and now needs to rest at home for some time.
This update comes during a very busy time for the singer. Asim Azhar has been performing across the world as part of his Asim Ali Tour 2026. The tour took him to the United States and Canada, where many of his shows sold out, including in Dallas and New York. Shows in Houston, Toronto, and Chicago are also close to selling out. The tour will also include performances in the United Kingdom, with shows planned in Birmingham on September 18 and London on September 20.
Asim Azhar started his music career by posting cover songs on YouTube. He became more popular after appearing on Coke Studio Pakistan, first joining in Season 8 in 2015 as one of the youngest singers on the show. His Season 9 performances made him famous across Pakistan and India.
His 2018 song “Jo Tu Na Mila” with Iqra Aziz crossed 100 million YouTube views in 2020. His song “Ghalat Fehmi” became the first Pakistani track to top Spotify’s global chart in 2021. He comes from an artistic family, as his father was a pianist and his mother is a well-known actress.
