Today, June 9, 2026, marks the 4th death anniversary of Dr. Aamir Liaquat Hussain, one of Pakistan’s most recognized television personalities and public figures.
Aamir Liaquat was born on July 5, 1971, in Karachi, to politician Sheikh Liaquat Hussain and columnist Mahmooda Sultana. He began his career as a televangelist when he joined Geo Television in 2001, hosting the religious programme Aalim Online.
Over the years, he became a household name across Pakistan. He wore many hats: doctor, journalist, naat reciter, author, TV host, poet, politician, and preacher. He gave a completely new look to Ramzan transmissions on Pakistani television.
In 2002, he ran for a parliamentary seat in Karachi and won. He later served as Minister of State for Religious Affairs from 2004 to 2007.
Hussain passed away on June 9, 2022, at the age of 50, and was laid to rest at Karachi’s Abdullah Shah Ghazi graveyard. The cause of his death could not be officially determined.
Even three years after his passing, his children continue to seek justice against those who circulated his private videos in his final days.
Whether people admired or disliked him, one thing remains clear, his absence left a mark on everyone. He was gifted, versatile, educated, and quick-witted. Truly one of a kind.
